McGraw-Hills CEO Harold McGraw III yesterday in an interview to the TV channel CNBC revealed that the “Apple” will introduce its very first Tablet PC at todays “Apple” event. “McGraw-Hill will offer e-books for this new device. Also McGraw revealed that this tablet will run on the iPhone operating system.

McGraw during the interview with CNBC: “Yeah, Very exciting. Yes, theyll make their announcement tomorrow on this one. We have worked with Apple for quite a while. And the Tablet is going to be based on the iPhone operating system and so it will be transferable. So what you are going to be able to do now is we have a consortium of e-books. And we have 95% of all our materials that are in e-book format. So now with the tablet youre going to open up the higher education market, the professional market. The tablet is going to be just really terrific.”
The magazine “Wall Street Journal” reports that after Apples 11-hour long discussions with the e-book publishers, the California company has agreed on e-book pricing for this Tablet PC: books will cost 12.99 and 14.99 U.S. dollars, but some titles will also be available for 9.99 dollars. “Apple” will receive 30 percent of the income from book selling, but the publishers – the remaining 70 percent.
The title of the first Apples Tablet PC is still not yet known, but some of the most likely versions are: “iSlate”, “iTablet” and the “iPad”. However, it should be announced tonight when the Apple event will start. There are many rumors on the web these days (many believe that today will be presented to update the iPhone) and, of course, many possible Tablet PC spy shots. Here are some examples:
