Hewlett-Packard Company today officially announced the new 18.4-inch laptop with advanced multimedia capabilities – Pavilion dv8. Furthermore, this computer will not only have extensive multimedia functionality, but also a special HP Long Life Battery, which can boast a longer lifetime (more than keep the energy storage properties) and are safer.

Hewlett-Packard Pavilion dv8 laptop will have a large 18.4-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixel) resolution screen, Intel Core i7 latest generation of the central quad-core processor, 4 GB of RAM (expandable to 8 GB), two 320 GB hard drives, NVIDIA GeForce GT230 graphics processor with 1 GB of video memory, built-in TV tuner and Blu-Ray drive.
Also this computer will have HP Long Life Battery with Boston Power created Sonata cells, whose lifetime (charge cycles) of 3 to 5 times longer than conventional lithium ion batteries. Incidentally, these batteries are also safer (ie the possibility that they could be detonated by a much smaller than conventional lithium ion batteries).
So far, the manufacturer has not revealed the official price of a laptop, but Engadget.com reports that in Britain, this computer will be available from no 22.
