Nowadays almost anyone cell phone manufacturer can offer a wide range of touchscreen phones, unfortunately most of them are equipped with resistive touchscreens, which are not so good. Today we are going to review Nokia X6 – first Nokia with a capacitive touchscreen.
The height of this phone is almost the same as iPhone, but Nokia is a bit thinner, which disables the virtual QWERTY keyboard, but anyway, QWERTY keyboard is accessible when you turn phone in landscape mode.
While using built-in accelerometer to turn screen in landscape mode we found that there is no animation for this action.
Nokia X6 in hands seems pretty good, but if you have short fingers, there will be problems to use upper side of a display. Phone is equipped with a 5th version of Symbian S60 and we still dont know why Nokia is using doubleclick in their menus?!
Menu is easy to understand, but we may wish a better looking template. On the body of X6 you can find 7 buttons – on/off, volume control, display blocking, menu, camera button, and buttons for answering or dropping call. On the right side of Nokia logo is a touch sensitive button for shortcuts.
Casing is made from plastic, and the back panel seems to be too loose. In package you can find USB cable which 20 centimeters short. Ok, this is good for laptop users, but what happens if you want to attache this cable to your desktop computer which stands on the ground under your desk?
With a single charge Nokia X6 can work up to two days in normal usage level – some 3G and some WiFi. SIM card slot is located in left side of phone. Positive is that you can insert SIM without removing the battery, but if you want to remove the SIM, than you need to remove the battery too.
Nokia X6 is a mid-range phone, its not so bad, but its so good too. Device will be good for a young people, because it is equipped with a good multimedia player. Anyway, Nokia has done their job – this is the replacement for 5800.
