Microsoft leaders Steve Ballmer in a recent interview had some rough words to say about Microsofts competitor Apple. He said that the global economic crisis has created a turning point in the hardware market, and buyers will no longer be willing to buy Apple computers, claiming that Apple computer buyers overpay 500 dollars for the manufacturers logo. Apple in recent years has dominated the MP3 player market, and, since the Windows Vista entered the market, Apple recorded a large increase in market share in the computer market. But now the situation has rapidly changed, because Microsoft is preparing a new, promising operating system, which will also work flawlessly with a 500 dollars worthy netbooks, which in todays economic conditions have become very popular. To make the matter worse, Apples founder Steve Jobs, has stated that Apple does not know how to make a 500 dollars worth computer that would not be “a piece of junk”.

Microsofts Steve Ballmer quickly responded to this statement of Apple, saying that the situation will quickly change: “Apple gained about one point, but now I think the tide has really turned back the other direction. The economy is helpful. Paying an extra $500 for a computer in this environment – same piece of hardware – paying $500 more to get a logo on it? I think thats a more challenging proposition for the average person than it used to be.”
This is not the first time that Ballmer is trashtalking about Apple. For example in year 2007, he publicly claimed that the Apple iPhone will never get a significant share of the market, but a year later iPhone became the most demanded smartphone in U.S.
