Nokia demonstrates cell phone RADAR, which can detect human motion direction and speed

The office of Nokia has always been an interesting exhibit of the various future technology concepts. When Gadgetine.com visited Nokia headquarters in Espoo (Finland), we had the opportunity to try out many interesting technologies: indoor analogue for GPS navigation system; a system which allows to drive the mouse cursor, by tracking the eye movements; mobile phone which can find lost keys, glasses or other objects; phone with 3D display, which allows to see stereoscopic images without special glasses and other technology concepts. Although these tests are usually not allowed to be recorded on video, a video, which shows one more interesting Nokia's future technology concept - "Radar" system that allows a cell phone to follow a man or movements of his body parts, has been published on YouTube.

It is known that the "RADAR" (Radio Detection And Ranging) measures electromagnetic waves, therefore recording human movement and calculating the direction and approximate speed of the movement.

As you can see on the video, this system also allows to follow the movements of the hand to control the phone volume, even if the phone is being covered by a fabric cap.
